The Friends of St Giles-in-the-Fields was formed in 2004 to provide a means for parishioners who may have moved away, those who are unable to join with us regularly, and all those of good will in the local community, can offer valuable on-going support for the work of St Giles. Funds raised through the Friends Scheme are used to preserve the fabric of the church, conserve and enhance the furnishing and adornments, and to further the growth of social and musical activities. The Friends Scheme is very important to us.
Today we witness to a growing and diverse community and seek to serve the needs of parish residents and the many who work, visit and travel through here. At the same time, we strive to maintain the church’s unique heritage for future generations. Remaining open for worship and quiet contemplation is incredibly important in the West End. In addition to regular worshippers, concert audiences, guests and visitors come frequently to experience the church’s unique atmosphere of calm at the centre of a bustling city. Through the Friends Scheme it is possible to make a regular, gift-aided annual contribution to the ever-increasing costs of the Church’s maintenance or by this means to maintain a tangible link with St Giles. Those on our Friends Scheme are remembered in prayer through the week and also receive the monthly newsletter.
If you have a connection with St Giles-in-the-Fields that you would like to strengthen, or if you have been touched by visiting the church, or by passing by, you will be very welcome to join the Friends of St Giles-in-the-Fields Scheme. You can write to us at St Giles and request a form (The Parish Office, St Giles-in-the-Fields Church, 60 St Giles High Street, LondonWC2H 8LG) or email the verger (firstname.lastname@example.org) and then post it to us with your contribution.
