“Year of Service” Guest Speakers Various times throughout 2025 This year at St Giles-in-the-Fields we welcome a range of guest speakers focussing on how faith is put into action in life through acts of service. We are pleased to announce the first three speakers in the programme. Please do join us and invite your friends to come along too.

“The Day of Judgement?” | Sunday 4th May at 6.30pm during Evensong

Dr Sue Chadwick is an experienced planning lawyer and author who combines commercial practice with academic research. Her recent work focusses on data ethics and the built environment. Drawing on her personal experience, Sue will explore historic and current challenges of making fair decisions & what it means to be “fair minded” in a digital age.

“Sent by the Spirit” | Sunday 8th June at 6.30pm during Evensong The Community of Sant Egidio (which takes its name from St.Giles) is a global ecumenical Christian movement dedicated to peace, prayer and service to the poor. We welcome the UK Co-ordinator Emanuela Russo who will be reflecting on how she became a member of the Community, how it changed her life, and how its work makes a difference. We welcome members of Churches Together in Westminster to this service. “The Kingdom of God is Justice & Peace” | Sunday 29th June at 6.30pm during Evensong

Deborah Colvin is an educator and environmental activist. She is Creation Care Area Lead for the Two Cities in the diocese of London, and supports the Eco Church programme at A Rocha UK, direct action with Christian Climate Action and the Earth Justice programme at St James’s Piccadilly. Deborah will help us explore the personal challenge of living our lives in a more environmentally equitable way.
