We will join with events around the nation to celebrate the coronation this weekend. Do come along and bring family, friends, and colleagues to share in the festivities.
5 May | Choral Evensong for the King | 6.30pm
On the eve of the Coronation, we will gather for a special service of Choral Evensong, joining our prayers for the King and Queen with those of Christians throughout the land. Music includes Smith responses, Sumsion in G, 'O thou the Central orb' (Wood) and 'O taste and see' (R V Williams). The Rector will give the sermon. After the service, drinks will be served to kick off the celebration!
7 May | Holy Communion & Big Coronation Lunch | 11am
With communities across Britain, we will celebrate the coronation after morning worship on Sunday 7 May with a "Big Coronation Lunch". This will take the form of a bring-and-share picnic BBQ in the Churchyard and Vestry.
All are welcome to come along and if you are able to bring something to share then please send an email so we can keep track of who is bringing what.
7 May | Choral Evensong | 6.30pm
On Sunday evening, we will round out the celebration with choral evensong, when music will include Clucas respones, Stamford in A and the coronation anthem "Zadok the Priest" (G.F. Handel).
